Two Miami real estate companies have purchased the mortgage on a Sunrise shopping center in the midst of foreclosure. Global Fund Investments and MMG Equity Partners have completed the acquisition of the note Compass Bank held on the Village Shoppes at Pine Plaza. The Sunrise shopping center has been owned by SCP-Capri Pine Plaza, a subsidiary of Stiles Corp.

Mortgage rates fall, approach all-time low

WASHINGTON - Rates on 30-year fixed mortgages fell last week to the lowest level of the year and were barely shy of the all-time low. Mortgage finance company Freddie Mac says the average rate sank to 4.72 percent, down from 4.79 percent the previous week.
